Kenneth Wade “Kenny” “Killer Weed” Cutlip, 66, of Marlinton, unexpectedly passed away due to health complications Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Born July 3, 1958, in Marlinton, he was a son of the late Leonard Francis and Jennie Marie Sharp Cutlip.
Kenny was a Christian by faith and spent his entire professional career as a school bus driver. During summer months, he spent his time working at Camp Twin Creeks, shuttling youth to various outdoor adventures. During winter months, when not driving a school bus, he worked at the Ski Barn at the base of Snowshoe Mountain.
Kenny was a wonderful father, brother and friend who would do anything for his children, grandchildren and family. He knew no stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone in need, even if it meant giving away his last dollar and doing without. His selflessness was unprecedented.
Kenny loved life and adventure. He made many cross-country trips by car, plane and motorcycle with his children, grandchildren and friends. If an adventure awaited, he would be off in a flash. He took all opportunities to see as much of the world and enjoy the views as he could. One could say he always took the time to stop and smell the roses and love life as much as humanly possible.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kierstin Wilfong.
He is survived by three daughters, Tabitha Stump, of Amma, Karen Hartwell, of Marlinton, and Ashley Shearer, of West Melbourne, Florida; nine grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Debra Crookshank, of Buckeye, and Glenda VanReenan, of Marlinton; brother, Timmy Cutlip, of Marlinton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Robert Cutlip officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to Lantz Funeral Home 16792 Seneca Trail Buckeye, WV 24924 or at Lantzfuneralhome.com to help offset the funeral expenses.
