Keith Smith

Keith L. Smith, age 88, of Salamanca, New York, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the Veteran’s Administration WNY Healthcare System in Buffalo, New York.

Born December 17, 1926, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late Lee Andrew and Edith Simmons Smith.

Mr. Smith was a United States Navy Veteran, serving abroad the USS Louisville Heavy Cruiser in the South Pacific during World War II.
He was employed at Bush Industries in Falconer, New York, prior to his retirement in 1990. He had prevously been employed at Otis Steel in Ellicottville, Crowley Machine Shop and Champion International in Cattaraugus.

Mr. Smith was a member of the former Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1002 and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence Smith, Lee A. Smith, Jr. and Harold Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Alvonia “Abby” Alderman Smith, whom he married December 1, 1953 at Edray; six daughters, Devonia Smith, of Salamanca, New York, Debra Revetti, and husband, Michael, and Dee Greenspan, and husband, Steven, all of Dawsonville, Georgia, Donna Smith, and husband, George, of Jamestown, New York, Frances Howard, and husband, Eugene, of Bryant, Texas, and Viola Fowler, and husband, Roy, of South Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a son, Lawrence Smith, and wife, Dorothy, of Williamson, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
