Jerry Wayne Green, age 68, of Frost, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015, at his home.
Born June 16, 1947, at Woodrow, he was a son of Opal Florence Barlow Green, and the late Grady Burton Green, who passed away in 2001.
Jerry was a 1966 graduate of Marlinton High School. He worked in the woods logging with his father. He attended the Frost United Methodist Church and was a member of the Riverside Masonic Lodge #124 in Cass.
He was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways where he worked for 32 years. He was owner and operator of Green’s Auto Shop. In 1982 he was a founding member of the Frost Fire Department. He loved to dig ginseng, hunt, fish and travel on his motorcycle.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley A. Green and Burton Kent Green.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy McKenney Green; a daughter, Cheryl Denise Dunaway, and husband, Bill, of Fairmont; a son, Allen Wayne Green, and wife, Monica, of Frost; a grandson, Phillip A. Green, of Frost; and a sister, Sue Ann Jackson, and husband, Gene, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Family will receive friends Friday, October 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye. Funeral service is Saturday, October 10, 2 p.m. at the New Hope Church of the Brethren with Revs. David Rittenhouse and Randy Simms officiating. Interment will be in the Cochran Cemetery in Onoto.
