Jean Frances Burdette, age 81, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014.
Born November 11, 1932, at Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Otey O. and Alice L. Burdette.
Jean retired as an accountant from Structural Steel Company, Inc., after many years of service. She was an active member of Valley Community Church and a die hard Redskins fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Otey D. “Bud” Burdette; and a sister, Mary Jo Vickroy.
She is survived by a sister, Agnes Ann Burdette, of Roanoke, Virginia; brothers, William T. “Buck” Burdette, and wife, Ramona, of Flatwoods, and Edward A. “Butch” Burdette, of Fairlawn, Virginia; a brother-in-law, Keith Vickroy; and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Family will gather for a time of remembrance Saturday, June 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Oakey’s North Chapel in Roanoke, Virginia, with Pastor Velma Bullington officiating. Memorials may be made to the Valley Community Church, 5000 Carriage Drive, Roanoke, VA 24018.
