Janice Faye Gibson, 68, of Buckeye, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Teays Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hurricane.
Born January 20, 1956, in Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Charles Clade Carr and Geraldine Carr.
Janice worked as a home health aide and caregiver for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Wyatt; and brothers, Edward “Eddie” Carr and Martin Carr.
She is survived by a sister, Brenda Carr, of Marlinton; five children, Jacklynn Gibson, of Morgantown, Stephanie Browning, of Hunting- ton, Matt, Mike and Jeramy Gibson, all of Marlinton; eight grandchildren, Shane Somerruk, Ethan Browning, Alexis and Landon Gibson, Haley and Layla Gibson, and Jordyn and Robert Gibson; great-granddaughter, Adalynn Gibson; and the children’s father and grandfather, Jack Gibson, of Marlinton.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
An inurnment of her ashes will be at Clawson Cemetery in Marlinton.
Our mom was a beautiful and kind soul who had many friends and family members who loved her. She will forever be missed.
