James Philmore Sacks, 84, of Elkins, departed this life Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Colonial Place in Elkins, surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 2, 1935, at Valley Bend, he was a son of the late Philmore Franklin and Ethel Mae Glover Sacks.
On August 19, 1961, he married the former Patsy Ellen Burner, who survives. The couple celebrated 58 years of marriage.
James attended Randolph County schools, served 10 years in the reserves and drove a supply truck for the West Virginia Department of Highways, working for 47 years. He was a member of the Harts Chapel Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Roger, David, Neal and Robert Sacks; and two sisters, Emily and Phyllis.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin Dales Sacks, and companion, Robin Wamsley, of Dailey, and Bradley James Sacks, and companion, Shell Weese, of Mill Creek; a brother, Bruce Sacks, of Dailey; sister, Rose Bonsal, of Maryland; grandson, Justin William Sacks, of Glady; and great-grandson, Lane.
Final rites were conducted Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home in Elkins, with Pastor David B. Rittenhouse officiating.
Interment was in Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville.
