The second Annual Holiday Community Concert will be presented Sunday, December 15, at 3 p.m. at the Highland Center in Monterey, Virginia. The concert will include the Highlands Community Orchestra, the Highland Community Choir and Glory Bells.
The orchestra has members from Highland County, Virginia, and Pocahontas County and Pendleton County.
The Glory Bells is a three-octave handbell choir that started as a combined group from the Beulah, Monterey, and Pisgah Presbyterian churches in May of 2010.
Today the Beulah and Monterey churches sponsor the group.
Most of the ringers are members of these churches. However, the group includes guest ringers from the Monterey United Methodist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church and The Church of the Good Shepherd.
The Highland Community Chorus was started in 2012.
The choir forms every fall for the purpose of presenting a Christmas concert for the community.
