Harry Mason Smith, age 90, of Clearbrook, Virginia, died Monday, April 1, 2019, at The Retreat at Berryville in Berryville, Virginia.
Born November 21, 1928, at Yawkey, he was a son of the late Henry Harrison and Bertha Mason Smith.
Harry was an athletic director at James W. Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, Virginia. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Panama during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #41 and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association.
He married Virginia Anne “Jenny” Harris April 9, 1955, in Green Bank. She preceded him in death August 31, 2012.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Smith.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Jo Smith-Wade, and husband, Randy, of Dublin, Virginia, Jane L. Smith, and husband, Scott Roberge, of Petersburg, Arkansas, and Anne M. Smith, of Green Bank; grandchildren, Hannah Wade, Jette Wade, and Alex Rodriguez, and wife, Jenna Wilson-Ashby; and numerous nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 20, 2 p.m. at his home, 786 Shady Creek Rd., Clearbrook, Virginia. Burial will be at a later date in Arbovale Cemetery.
