Harold Hunter Friel, age 87, of Buckeye, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Pocahontas Center.
Born December 7, 1925, at Woodrow, he was a son of the late Morris B. and Flossie Galford Friel.
Harold was a prison guard, ran a service station and worked for the Forest Service on the senior program. He was a member of the Swago United Methodist Church and an Army Veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Hobert, Sherman, Norman, Ira, Osborne and Herbert Friel.
He is survived by his son, Rusty M. Friel, and wife, Barbara, of Marlinton; a sister, Naomi Newman, of Marlinton; a grandson, Randy Friel, and wife, Alexis; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was November 9 at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Mann officiating. Interment with Military Rites by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps was in the Cochran Cemetery in Onoto.
