Gerald Albert Rider, Sr., age 86, of Neola, died Friday, January 2, 2015, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born December 20, 1938, at Neola, he was a son of the late George and Icie Bogan Rider.
Gerald was a retired glazier, an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the IUPAT District Council #51 and a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Madge Rider Robertson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Chapman Rider; daughters, Judith Ann Rider, Janice Lynn Rider Gillespie and Jill Rider Wong; a son, Gerald A. Rider, Jr.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is January 7, at 2 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Gary Waple officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
