General Franklin Triplett, 91, of Hillsboro, passed away at his home Wednesday, March 27, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Born at home on Raintown Road, October 11, 1932, he was a son of the late Elmer and Dorthula Peyton Triplett.

Gen served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955.

He was a member of the Mt. Kennison Church of God. He was a logger and enjoyed working outside, farming and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Earl, Clay, Kenneth, Kelly, Edgar, Ray and Herman; and sisters, Grace, Ruby and Sybil.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Evalena Triplett; son, James F. Triplett, and wife, Sandra, of Hillsboro; daughter, Sandra Rediker, of Hillsboro; sister, Dorthy Eagle, of Terre Haute, Indiana; grandchildren, Kristi Tankersley, and husband, Brian, Michele Stewart and Michael Stewart, all of Hillsboro, Jamie Smith, and wife, Kim, of Churchville, Virginia; four great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Evalee Mullens, of Bluewell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Mt. Kennison Church of God with Sam Felton officiating. Interment was in Sharp Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department, 7524 Seneca Trail, Hillsboro, WV 24946.

VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton was in charge of arrangements.
