CD, THE BEAR cub from Point of View Farm in Beard, celebrated her first birthday January 15. Her mother, Rose, returned to the farm last winter to hibernate in her man-made den. Point of View owner and animal caretaker Joel Rosenthal was surprised to find that Rose had given birth there to CD, who weighed only a few ounces and fit into the palm of Rosenthal’s hand. Mother and cub returned to the woods in the spring, but made frequent visits to Point of View farm throughout the summer and fall. They returned to their winter habitat at the farm last month. J.
