The Pocahontas County Farmer’s Market has three great locations throughout the county. Our Green Bank Market, located in the parking lot of Henry’s Quick Stop, opened for the season Wednesday, May 27. Hours for the market are from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. We hope to see you there.
Our Linwood Market, which opened for the season May 22, is located in the parking lot of the Linwood Library at the base of Snowshoe Mountain. The Linwood Farmer’s Market will be open from 3:30 to 6 p.m. every Friday afternoon.
Our Marlinton Market, open rain or shine every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon, is located near the First Avenue Mini Park. We open bright and early ready to supply Pocahontas County with the freshest produce and quality local goods.
Are you ready to get your garden started or want some new plants to add to your collection? We have various starter plants to choose from, hardy cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, basil, thyme and many more. You will be glad you picked up a few starter plants when you and your family can enjoy your own fresh produce later. Get your plants from the Farmer’s Market and you can be sure you are getting quality plants from local people you can trust.
New vendors, Ben and Linda Raugh from Little Levels Greenhouse, will be at the Farmers Market every Saturday to meet all your planting needs. They plan to set up at the Linwood Farmers Market, as well.
The FFA joined us this past Saturday. Come support the students involved in this program.
With the growing season just beginning we do have some early produce, including some early greens, lettuce, rhubarb, Asian greens, herbs and apples.
Add some color to your yard or porch. We have beautiful flowers and hanging baskets. Spring is in the air and the days are getting warmer. The fragrant smell and beauty of flowers is relaxing and enjoyable. Pick up some flowers and the bees will thank you, too.
We have plenty of fresh baked goods and supplies to make your own. We offer salt rising bread, artisan breads, pepperoni rolls, dinner rolls, cinnamon buns, cookies, cornmeal, freshly ground flours, lard, molasses, vanilla extracts, maple syrup and eggs. We also have homemade jams and jellies perfect for any occasion.
For the crafter in your life, we offer unique fabrics, quilts, potato bakers, sewing accessories, beautiful specialty yarns, hand knitted apparel, jewelry, nature paintings and colorful tie dyes.
Ever wonder where your meat comes from?
Shop local and you’ll know that your meat is coming from a local farmer. Matthew and Stacy McCarty from Big Rock Farms are at the Farmers Market every Saturday with the best chickens you can find in Pocahontas County. They feature pasture raised chickens frozen to preserve freshness. They also have sausage, ham and lard. Their farm is located in Hillsboro and is open to visitors who are interested in their products.

Try using our all natural charcoal. It will give your meal that something extra you’ve been looking for!
While at the market don’t forget to pick up a PCFM cookbook and tote.
