The Pocahontas County Opera House was transformed into an art gallery Friday for the Marlinton Woman’s Club Evening with the Arts – displaying a collection of artwork by middle and high school students in Pocahontas County.
Paintings, drawings, as well as mixed media pieces and sculptures filled the music hall, displaying a variety of artistic talent.
The artwork was judged, and winners received ribbons for first, second and third place.
Those winners are:
Middle School
Dragon Eyes – first place, Ava Zubrowski; second place, Mallory Koerber; and third place, Riley Keffer.
Complementary Leaves – first place, Jolene Workman; second place, John Mace; and third place, James Monico.
One-Point Perspective – first place, Grace Faubert; second place, Mallory Koerber; and third place, Moriah Thompson.
Animal Portraits – first place, Sydney Slifer; second place tie, Kylie Underwood and Mallory Koerber; and third place tie, Madeleine Burns and Isabella Barr.
Mixed Media – first place, Isabella Barr; second place, Lily Barr; and third place, Sydney Slifer.
Canopic Jars – first place, Savana Sharp; second place, Lexi Burdette; and third place, Harly Bennett.
Miscellaneous – first place, Max Creamer; second place, Sydney Slifer; and third place, Bradley Dotson.
