Elva Mae Vandevender Jordan, age 72, of Marlinton, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.
Born September 6, 1941, at Monterville, she was a daughter of the late Elvin and Nessie Arbogast Vandevender.
Elva was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a 4-H leader and enjoyed time with her family and loved the outdoors. She loved to be around all children.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Abraham Jordan; a daughter, Debbie A. Dean, of Marlinton; three sons, Jimmie E. Jordan, and wife, Sandy, Chris A. Jordan, and wife, Lori, all of Edray, and Darrell R. Jordan, and wife, Sabrina, of Woodrow; sisters, Rosalie Noel, and husband, Jerry, Frances Peters, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Dorothy Bennett, of Craigsville, Linda Bennett, and husband, Steve, of Moatsville, and Susie Arbogast, and husband, Mitch, of Monterville; brothers, Richard Vandevender, and wife, Doris, of Droop, and Chamber Vandevender, and wife, Colleen, of Brady Gate; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was March 2 at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Mann officiating. Interment was in Cochran Cemetery in Onoto.
Memorials may be made to the Wound Care Center in Greenbrier County.
