ABSENTEE VOTING
Voters who do not wish to vote in person due to the Coronavirus pandemic are encouraged to complete the absentee postcard application that was recently mailed.
If you did not receive the postcard application, you can obtain an application by:
• Downloading and printing the application from our website: pocahontascountyclerk.com or the WV Secretary of State’s website: sos.wv.gov
• Call the County Clerk’s Office at: 304-799-4549 to request the application to be mailed; faxed or emailed to you.
Deadline for absentee by mail application is June 3
You may track your ballot by going to GoVoteWV.com and clicking the “Track Your Absentee Ballot” button. If you have questions or concerns about your ballot, contact the county clerk’s office.
Election Day and Early Voting
Voters may still vote in-person during Early Voting from May 27 to June 6 and on Election Day June 9. With the implementation of preventive measures for early voting and election day, due to the coronavirus pandemic restrictions, it may take longer to vote.
How will we ensure the safety of voters and election workers at the polls during the coronavirus emergency?
We will have supplies on hand to sanitize surfaces, objects, voting machines, etc. at the polls. Social distancing best practices will be implemented, as well.
Poll Workers Needed
If you are interested in being a poll worker, please contact the County Clerk’s Office. Not only will you be doing a great service for your state and county, you will be paid for your service.
Courthouse Operations: By order of the Pocahontas County Commission, the Pocahontas County Courthouse will remain closed to public access until May 10.
