David Cromer

David O. Cromer, age 76, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away April 18, 2015.

Born in 1938, he was a son of the late Harvey and Annie Cromer.

David served in the United States Navy and Air Force, retiring as a Major with the United States Air Force. After retirement, he worked for J. A. Niland, Sikorsky, Boeing and P. Carter Trucking, Inc.

He was a member of East Brent Baptist for 31 years where he served as Senior Adult and Couples Sunday School teacher for many years.

He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family in West Virginia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patty Kellum Cromer; two daughters, Karen Cromer Carter, and husband, Phil, and Kristin Ales, and husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Lindsey Ales, Aaron Ales, Kristy Carter, Catie Ales and Owen Carter; a brother, Donald B. Cromer, and wife, Judy; an adopted sister, Nancy Hall; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a selected daughter, Lori Hatcher, and husband, Brad, and Elle and Braden.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at The Haven of Our Lady of Peace and to Marcus and Judy Kellum for their loving care.

Funeral service was April 23 at East Brent Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Interment was in Barrancas National Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Derrick Reuben, Robert Parker, Dr. Jack Causey, Terrell Davis, Glenn Lassiter and Owen Carter. Honorary pallbearers were the Department 8 Men’s Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Jean Taylor, 13453 Back Mountain Road, Durbin, WV 26264.
