Spring has sprung and along with it comes the annual Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau Road Clean Up Campaign.
Beginning Earth Day, April 22, through May 19, the CVB will shell out $15,000 to organizations that step up to clean up the trash on 150 miles of roadways in Pocahontas County.
The motto for the campaign is “Fostering a Litter Free Community,” and wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone took that to heart?
Sadly, the people who respect the beauty of our county will be the ones who put in the time and effort to clean up the mess left behind by those who have no respect for it.
Register your club, scout troop, youth organization or civic group to earn $100 per mile of clean-up.
Minimum of one mile – up to 10 miles.
Register with the CVB by April 1 and pick up supplies at the CVB office in Marlinton.
This program is made possible through a partnership with the WV Department of Environmental Protection.
