
Berlene “Bean” Shue Long, 88, entered into rest Friday, July 25, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
Born April 14, 1937, in Pocahontas County, she was a daughter of the late Emery Everette Shue and Pearlie Willaims Shue.
She graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended Shepherd College.
She was a homemaker and loved to cook and do crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Atkins, Daphene Grimes, Irene Shorter, Ella Jo Galford, Edna Ray and Wenona McNeal; and brother, Darleigh Dair Shue.
She is survived by her partner of 49 years, Thomas Marchant; two sons, Timothy E. Long (Virginia) and Balous Reginald Victor Long (Patricia Hubbard); sister, Vivian Gibson, of Maxwelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was held from Hillcrest Memorial Park Monday, August 4, 2025, with Chaplain Tom Kalliokoski officiating.
Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors of Augusta, Georgia, were in charge of the arrangements.
