Amos Moore, age 5, of Buckeye, shows off a few of the melons he grew in the plot he and his dad, David Moore, have in Marlinton’s community garden. Young Moore is harvesting a bumper crop of cantaloupes and three varieties of watermelons. He is a kindergartener at Hillsboro Elementary School. This is his first foray into melon-growing and he is obviously a natural.
