Boyd Thompson, age 87, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, September 10, at his home.
Born October 31, 1927, in Huntington, he was a son of the late Boyd Thompson, Sr., and Viola Tomblin Thompson.
Boyd was a builder and electrician. He was a member of the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Bryan Thompson, whom he married February 14, 1974; three sons, Steve Thompson, of Huntington, Mark Thompson, and wife, Kim, and Bryan Thompson, and wife, Linda, all of Mill Point; four step-sons, Billy Ellison, of Vanceboro, North Carolina, Anthony Ellison, and wife, Linda, of Lavalette, Richard Ellison, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Michael Ellison, of Brooksville, Florida; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Per his request, the body was cremated.
A memorial service was held September 12 at Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton with Pastor Sam Felton officiating.
