Franklin Lee Varner, Sr., 83, of Durbin, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side.
Born July 27, 1941, in Boyer, he was a son of the late Leslie “Less” and Helen Irene Nelson Varner.
Frank was a driller for Interstate Hardwood and Tim Hevener and worked in maintenance for the Cheat Mountain Clubhouse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Ann Shifflett Varner; and brother, Jacky Varner, Sr.
He is survived by his loving family, daughters, Peggy Mick, of Durbin, and Connie Varner (Bill Means), of Bunker Hill; son Frank Varner, Jr., (Penny), of Durbin; grandchildren, Pam-ela Nelson (Bradley), Mark Varner and Becky Varner; great-grandchildren, Easton, Sierra, Bella, Leann, Kadyn, Jacob, Jesse and Layla; sisters, Debbie Wright (Clarence), of Durbin, and Lois Thompson, of Bartow; brother, Jimmy Varner, of Boyer; and his best friend and companion, “Buddy.”
Funeral will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with Pastors David Rittenhouse and Julian Rittenhouse.
Interment will be in Wilmoth Cemetery, Bartow.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the funeral home.
