Lewis Elmer Sharp, 94, of Marlinton, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at the home of his daughter in Cape Coral, Florida after an extended illness.

Born November 1, 1929, in Marlinton, he was a son of the late Dolpha Yeager Sharp and Regina Sue Underwood Sharp.

Lewis was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1949 to1953 as a member of the crash and rescue team at Andrews Air Force Base. After his time in the Air Force, he eventually returned to Marlinton and opened his own auto body business, “Sharp’s Body Shop.” He enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life, and after retiring from his business, he lived his dream, during the summer and fall season for several years, as a big game hunting guide in Wyoming for several years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hubert J. Sharp, Lowell A. Sharp, Dharl L. Sharp, Thomas E. Sharp; and sister, Louise Sharp Carpenter.

Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jane Sharp; three children, Theresa A. Daniels, of Cape Coral, Florida, Michael L. Sharp (Gretchen), of Goddard, Kansas, and Vickie Sharp Walton (Carolyn), of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; sister, Lunabelle Sharp Wilfong, of Marlinton; brother, Robert Y. Sharp (Ruth), of Marlinton; five grandchildren, David Clay Pryor, of Dallas, Georgia, Gail Marie Pryor, of St. Pete, Florida, Robert Lewis Sharp, of Wichita, Kansas, Mathilda Louise Sharp-Mathias (Kyle), of Maize, Kansas, and Parker Walton, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; great-grandson, Evan Garrett Anderson; and several loving nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life will be held in West Virginia at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Fort Myers, Florida.
