Edwin C. “Boss” Young, 80, of Neola, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family.

Born in Neola, June 12, 1943, he was a son of the late John and Lillian “Sis” Young.

Boss was always a well-known and loved member of the community.

He had retired from VEPCO and was an Honorary Member of the Anthony Creek VFD and Rescue Squad and member of the Neola Baptist Church.

He was an avid deer hunter and loved to fish. He was an NRA member and lifelong farmer. He loved taking rides and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Scott.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Young; two sons, Brent Young, of Fishersville, Virginia, and David Young, of Neola; brother, Johnnie Ray, of Neola; special first cousin, Barbara Ann Turner, of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Kendra Thompson (Adam) and Colton Young, both of Virginia, Alexis Easter (Tyler) and Levi Young, both of Neola; four great-grandchildren, Carter, Abigail and Lillian Thompson and Madeline Easter; and several special nieces and his church family.

Funeral service will be held at Thursday, March 21, 2024, 11 a.m., at Neola Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in Watts Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service.
