Cass Scenic Railroad State Park received delivery last week of a piece of equipment that will make life a bit easier during the winter season. CSX donated the rail snowplow to the Durbin Greenbrier Valley Railroad for use on the Greenbrier Express ride – a trip from Cass to Durbin.
The plow – a Jordan Wedge Snowplow C&O 914921 – was picked up in Staunton, Virginia, and brought to Cass by Best Logistics Trucking from Southpoint, Ohio.
Once snow starts covering the tracks, the plow will be put to work to ensure safe travels from the state park to the historic town of Durbin and back. Photo courtesy of Mountain Rail
WoW.. that thing is HUGE!
THANKS CSX
how on earth does the engineer see what’s ahead on the tracks through that flying snow?
