Rachel Elizabeth Sharp Potter, age 94, of Marlinton, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the home of her daughter, Hilda Elkins.
Born February 14, 1921, at Buckeye, she was a daughter of the late Loche and Minnie Sharp.
Rachel was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church – Huntersville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Potter; daughters, Virginia Schoolcraft and Leona Schoolcraft; sons, Jerry Kirk and Paul Schoolcraft; and a sister, Jean Friel.
She is survived by her daughter, Hilda Elkins, of Marlinton; a son, Kenneth Schoolcraft, of Marlinton; sisters, Oleta Scruggs, of Roanoke, Virginia, Grace Miller, of Marlinton, and Betty Lou Wamsey, of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Clarence Shearer, of Marlinton, and Junior Shearer, of Slaty Fork; 14 grand- children; 16 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was July 4 at First Baptist Church – Huntersville with Pastor Phillip Thompson and Pastor David McCall officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
