Eleanor Sue Shifflett, age 79, of Bayard, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas.
Born March 8, 1936, in Pocahontas County, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Lillian VanReenen.
Mrs. Shifflett retired as a manager with the Mountain Top Public Service District. She was a member of the Bayard United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and making new friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Merl Shifflett, on April 24, 2015.
She is survived by her son, Milford Merl Shifflett, II, of Bayard; a grandson, David Shifflett, of Capon Bridge; and a brother, Eddie VanReenen, of Marlinton. She also dearly loved her brothers-and-sisters-in-law in her late husband’s family, especially Paul and Lou Shifflett, of Craigsville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Smith Funeral Home and Crematory in Keyser is in charge of arrangements.
