Sylvia Marie Hammonds Thompson, 89, of Green Bank, went to her heavenly home Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Born January 7, 1934, in Camden on Gauley, she was a daughter of the late Lola Hammonds Yeager.
Sylvia was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and taking care of others. She attended the Frank Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kennison “Jake” Thompson; two children, Kenny Thompson, and wife, Amy, of Green Bank, and Patty Thompson Gore, and husband, John, of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Josh Thompson, and wife, Melia, and Jessica Taylor, and husband, Jonathan, all of Green Bank, and Jacobey Gore, of Hillsboro; great-grandchildren, Moriah Thompson, Jenifer Taylor, Joseph Taylor and Isaiah Thompson.
Funeral service was held Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Frank Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Gary Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the Arbovale Cemetery.
