A fine light Percheron is getting ready for show at the Pocahontas County Fairgrounds. These well-muscled draft horses were normally black or gray in color. They were known for their intelligence and willingness to work, making them a popular breed for skidding logs and working the fields. The gentleman in the photo is not identified.
