Christine Bostic Flynn went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 30, 2015, after suffering a heart attack.
Born July 31, 1937, in Greenbrier County, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. Bostic and Reba E. Bare Bostic.
Christine grew up in Seebert, a little town where everyone knew who you were and felt like one big family. She taught Sunday School for years and started singing at a young age. Everyone loved to hear her sing. She sang at the church and always sang for her friends funeral services. The song was always “One Day at a Time.” The courage it must have taken to do this was just a part of the strength that Christine had.
She started working at a young age. She was assistant supervisor of the laundry department at Denmar State Hospital in the 1970s. She also worked for the West Virginia Division of Highways in Hillsboro, and probably out-worked the men there. She retired from housekeeping at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital after her first stroke in 1997.
Christine’s greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. She moved to Lewisburg to be near them, but Seebert was always her home. She will be remembered most for her protectiveness, love and ability to tell it how it was.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Bostic.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Kay Flynn Napier, and husband, Dwayne; grandchildren, Jeremiah Cook, and wife, Stefanie, Laticia Cook Anderson, and husband, Charlie, Corey Napier, Shannon Napier and Lexie Napier; great-grandchildren, Breianna Cook, Brandon Cook, Kenley Boone, Alexis Cook, Ava Cook and Braxton Anderson; a sister; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Christine will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her daughter and grandchildren.
