Dear Editor:
The Arbovale Cemetery Association wishes to express its thanks to the Pocahontas County Honor Corps for honoring Pocahontas County Veterans at the annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony December 19 at the Arbovale Cemetery.
There are 400-plus veterans buried in Arbovale Cemetery dating as far back as the Spanish American War.
Seven members of the Pocahontas Honor Corps placed a wreath for the branch of service in which they served, representing all branches of the armed forces. The ceremony also honored 93,129 service members who are classified as Prisoners of War or Missing in Action all across America.
We want to acknowledge Suzanne Stewart, staff writer at The Pocahontas Times, for taking pictures and reporting on the ceremony to remind us all of the high price of freedom that we enjoy.
