James F. Banton, age 89, of Orrville, Ohio, died Friday, July 31, 2020, at his home, following a period of declining health.
James was born on March 21, 1931, in Durbin, and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He married Annamae Moore on May 5, 1956, in Euclid, Ohio.
He worked in the core room for Quality Castings for more than 30 years, retiring in 1993.
James enjoyed playing golf and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jackie Ann Banton; great-grandson, Tyler Mason Banton; brother, George Banton; half-brother, Charles Arbogast; and half-sister, Joyce Ervin.
He is survived by his wife, Annamae Banton, of Orrville, Ohio; two sons, John (Sharon) Banton, of North Lawrence, Ohio, and Gary (Jennifer) Banton, of Orrville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Emma, Jacob and Jason Banton; two great-grandchildren, Tiarra and Teegan Banton; and a half-brother, Ricky (Susan) Schmitz of Arizona.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, Ohio, with John Willis officiating.
Entombment, with military rites, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, Ohio.
