Christopher F. Alvaro, 57, of Marlinton, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Born October 6, 1962, in Fairmont, he was a son of Marilyn Ryder Alvaro and the late Dominick “Mickey” Alvaro.
Christopher was a 30-year member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters.
Before his illness, Christopher was an avid trout fisherman and loved to spend weekends camping in his cherished mountains of West Virginia. He was a self-proclaimed “Wheeler and Dealer,” loving to buy, sell and trade anything. Christopher never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything, making friends wherever he went.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece, Sandi Alvaro.
Christopher is survived by his mother, Marilyn Ryder Alvaro, of Fairmont, formerly of Marlinton; his partner of 25 years, Lorinda Funk, of Marlinton; two step-daughters, Andrea “Andi” Parr, and husband, Jerry, of Lyndhurst, Virginia, and Jennifer Mahoney, and husband, Joel, of Farmington, Pennsylvania; two bro-thers, Dominick “Peanuts” Alvaro, and wife, Peggy, and William “Billy” Alvaro, all of Fairmont; five grandchildren, who were the joy of his life, Aidan Hartzell and Shawn Miller II, of Morgantown, Mikhela Kitt, of Lyndhurst, Virginia, and Tristan and Logan Mahoney, of Farmington, Pennsylvania; uncle, Frank Alvaro, and wife Lauranne, of Fairmont; aunts, Betty Alvaro, of Oakland, Maryland, Vickie Parker, and husband, Jerry, of Marlinton; nephew, Tommy Alvaro; niece, Abby Shuck, of Fairmont; and many cousins and friends.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Mountain Grove, Virginia. Burial will follow.
There will be no visitation.
