According to Pocahontas County Circuit Clerk Connie Carr, the following hearings were held June 17 via Skype and teleconference before the Honorable Judge Jennifer P. Dent:
A status conference was held in the case the State vs Cody Brouwer, 25, of Marlinton, wherein the court granted the state’s motion to revoke bond. Defense counsel advised that a plea agreement might be reached in the matter.
Hearings held before the Honorable Robert E. Richardson:
In the case the State vs Dalton Cain, 20, of Marlinton, defense counsel advised the court that a plea agreement cannot be reached and requested a motions hearing. The main witness in the matter is serving overseas in the military and is scheduled to return home in July. The motions hearing is set for July 27.
In the case the State vs Charles R. Calhoun, 34, of Marlinton, the court calls for jury selection for a three-day trial to be held in September.
A hearing to revoke bond was held in the case the State vs Phillip C. Dean, Jr., 47, of Marlinton, wherein the defendant waived his right to a preliminary hearing and admitted to allegations in the petition.
