Marian Tracy Bittle sent in this photograph along with the following description: Photo was taken outside the Brush Run Church in upper Pocahontas Co. during a Reunion of the seven living children and spouses of George Washington and Mary Ann Ervine Tracy. Pictured left to right are Mary Ann Tracy Thompson; Charles Lantz and wife, Anna Tracy Lantz; Perry Tracy and wife, Valera Sponaugle Tracy; Charles Osborne and wife, Emma Arbogast Tracy; Marshall Stephen Tracy and wife, Georgia Noel Tracy, Vicksburg, Miss.; Louisa Jane Tracy Arbogast and Margaret Elzedie Tracy Arbogast. Not pictured were the two oldest sons who fought in the Civil War on the side of the Confederacy. They were William Tracy, killed at the Battle of Bull Run, and James Tracy, who died in a Union Prison in Elmira, N.Y. Neither had married. Also not pictured are Preston Granville Tracy who married Madora Bright Tracy and was shot returning from church in Pine Grove with two of his young daughters, and Albert who died at age eleven. George Washington and Mary Ann Ervine Tracy were married Nov. 11, 1841. They raised their 11 children on a 300-acre farm on Buffalo Mountain given to them by Mary Ann’s father, Edward Ervine.
