According to Pocahontas County Circuit Clerk Connie Carr, the following hearings were held January 2 before the Honorable Judge Jennifer P. Dent:
A hearing on petition to revoke probation was held in the case the State vs John Martin Stull, 29, of Bartow, wherein Stull waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He will sign a release and provide information concerning his current treatment to the probation department. An evidentiary hearing/disposition is set for January 31.
In a change of plea hearing, Carl Lee Kidd, 37, of Arbovale, tendered a written plea agreement to the court wherein he will plead guilty to grand larceny. During the court’s inquiry, Kidd asked for a continuance so he can speak to his family about the plea. The matter is continued to January 30.
An evidentiary hearing in the case the State vs Kimberly Vandevender, 30, of Green Bank, was continued due to a proceeding pending in Randolph County. The matter is continued to January 30.
Matthew J. Tuskan, 36, of Hillsboro, failed to appear for a hearing on defense motion for reduction of home confinement fees. Defense counsel of record did not know the whereabouts of the defendant. Home confinement officers will be contacted to ascertain status of the defendant. The matter is continued to January 30.
A status conference/ change of plea hearing in the case the State vs Ricky Schoolcraft, 35, of Hillsboro, was continued to February 6.
The Court denied three defense motions at a pre-trial/motions hearing in the case the State vs Michael A. Stewart, 38, of Buckeye. The matter is set for final pre-trial conference January 30, and remains on the trial docket for February 7.
Defense counsel for Leo Woodhouse 53, of Marlinton, waived cross examination of a confidential informant, and accepts the court’s ruling in another case involving the same confidential informant. Pre-trial is set for February 14.
The case the State vs Anna Faye Sheets, 50, of Marlinton, is set for trial March 6. Pre-trial is set for February 27.
