Dolly M. “Tab” McClure, age 88, of Marlinton, departed this life Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Valentine Personal Care Home in Elkins.
Born January 25, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Chester H. and Dora E. Shifflett.
Tab was a 1948 graduate of Marlinton High School, where she played basketball and volleyball. She was a childcare worker for several years, and was loved by all who knew her.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert G. McClure, Sr.; brothers, Harold L. Shifflett and William C. Shifflett; and a sister, Ina M. Smith.
She is survived by her only son, Herbert G. McClure, Jr., of Marlinton; granddaughter, Shannen M. McClure, a student at Davis and Elkins College in Elkins; and friend, Patricia A. Felton, of Marlinton.
The family would like to thank Cecil “Bucky” Clark, Zed S. Weatherholt and all who cared about “Aunt Tabby” during her extended illness.
Funeral service was held August 28 at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton with Rev. Norman Alderman officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton.
