Mary Matilda Walton, age 72, of Droop Mountain, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Born May 19, 1946, at Renick, she was a daughter of the late George and Ethel Crane Lewis.
Mary was of the Baptist faith and was employed as a cook for the Pocahontas County Board of Education.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betheleen McCoy and Lulubell Lewis; and seven brothers, James, Hobert, Lacy, Harrison, Bradford, Henry, and Orville Lewis.
She is survived by her husband, Wilburn Walton, whom she married October 15, 1965; sons, Kirk Walton, and wife, Renee, of Hillsboro, and Jason Walton, and wife, Lisa, of Marlinton; grandchildren, Samantha Walton, Trey Walton and Draegan McQuade; sister, Wanda Blankenship, of Williamsburg; two brothers, Sidney Lewis, of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, and Robert Lewis, of Williamsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, June 27, at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Revs. Otis Lewis and Marshall Cochran officiating. Burial was in Emmanuel Cemetery at Bruffey Creek.
