The Pocahontas County Commission met at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and conducted a brief slate of business.
The agenda item regarding the memorandum of understanding to be approved between the town of Hillsboro and the county regarding collection of the hotel/motel tax was tabled until the next meeting because it was incorrectly published on the agenda as “between the town of Durbin and Pocahontas County Commission…”
The commission approved a budget revision and resolution for law enforcement involving $5,550 and an in-house budget revision and resolution for the tax office of $1,000.
The state auditor’s office has approved the county’s budget.
The commission will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, to observe the testing of the iVotronic voting machines.
Commission counsel Bob Martin gave an update on the litigation between the county assessor’s office and Silver Creek, and advised the commissioners that Attorney Stephen Skinner has filed the county’s complaint with regard to the opioid crisis.
The meeting adjourned at 8:50 a.m.
The commission will meet again Tuesday, April 17, at 5:30 p.m.
