Robert “Bob” Wooddell, age 94, of Greenbelt, Maryland, formerly of Green Bank, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Bob was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II. He retired from the University of Maryland in 1981 after 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman.
One of his granddaughters described him as “a kind, gentle soul with a little bit of spunk in him.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Gin” Wooddell; and a great-grandson.
He is survived by his son, James Wooddell, and wife, Janice, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a daughter, Rita Wooddell, of Greenbelt, Maryland; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.
A graveside service with Military Rites was held September 13.
