Robert Lee Waugh, age 74, of Marlinton, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, after being cared for at home until his last few hours.
Born April 26, 1943, at Minnehaha Springs, he was a son of the late Bessie Waugh and Denny Brown.
Robert spent most of his life working in northern Virginia as a building contractor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Waugh and Jimmy Brown.
He is survived by his former wife, Pauline Waugh; two sons, Rob Waugh and Greg Waugh; a sister, Peggy McCatry; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and loved ones.
The family carried out his wishes for the body to be donated to the WVSOM Human Gift Registry, in hopes of providing insight to help the fight against cancer. In the next one-to-three years, WVSOM will return his cremains to the family, who will then honor his memory with a memorial service.
A few of Lee’s final words were, “I lived my life the way I wanted.”
Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is attending the family.
