Governor Jim Justice has called for a special election for voters to decide on a constitutional amendment. The Roads to Prosperity Amendment of 2017, if passed, would provide for the improvement and construction of safe roads in the state by the issuance of bonds, not to exceed $1.6 billion.

The Special Election will take place Saturday, October 7, 2017, and the polls in each precinct will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Early Voting will begin Friday, September 22, and continue through Wednesday, October 4, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Early Voting will also be available Saturdays, September 23 and 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As with other elections, the location for Early Voting is in the basement of the Pocahontas County Courthouse.

The last day to register to vote in this Special Election is Monday, September 18, 2017.

You can register to vote any time online at ovr.sos.wv.gov/Register
