A snowstorm could bring significant snowfall to the area late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow which is in effect from 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, January 21, to 1 a.m. Wednesday, January 22.
Snow accumulation of four to six inches is expected, with most of the snow falling during the daylight hours on Tuesday.
Winds will be from the north at 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Temperatures will be in the mid-20s, dropping to the single digits Tuesday night.
Ind chill in the teens Tuesday morning, will fall to single digits either side of zero by late Tuesday evening.
The warning is for the mountainous counties of West Virginia and Southwest Virginia.
