The Davis & Elkins College Men’s Track and Field Team earned a fifth place finish in the program’s first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship April 28 and 29 in Cedarville, Ohio.
Freshman Dalton Irvine had one of the top performances of the weekend for the Senators, scoring second overall in the Men’s High Jump and third overall in the 110-Meter Hurdles.
Irvine cleared 1.85 meters to take second overall and earn eight points in the high jump.
Irvine then ran a 15.59 in the 110 Hurdles to score six more points with a top three finish. The performances in both events will earn Irvine All-Conference and All-Freshman honors.
Irvine would score one more point for the Senators in the 400-Meter Hurdles, taking eighth overall. Teammate Issa Mouafo finished fifth overall in the event with a 57.41.
