Robert E. “Bob” Mauzy, age 88, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at his home.
Born January 15, 1928, in Cass, he was a son of the late Jacob and Buanna Mauzy.
Bob was a tool and die maker and was owner/operator of Mauzy Design and Manufacturing. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He loved fishing in the Cheat River in his childhood home of West Virginia.
He loved animals, sports, politics, and most of all, his family. Bob extended kindness and generosity to friends and strangers alike, and was the rock his family could always depend on.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis Ruth Hale Mauzy; and a brother, Jacob “June” Mauzy.
He is survived by his children, Robert K. Mauzy, and wife, Wendy, and Norma Morgentaler, and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Jacob Mauzy, and wife, Gabby, Jesse Nord, and husband, Ryan, John Doerr, and wife, Jessica, Carrie Doerr and Steve Doerr; and a sister, Mabel Mauzy-Jones.
Family will receive friends Thursday, December 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home in Mentor, Ohio. Funeral service will be Friday, December 30, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery in Mentor, Ohio.
