Watch bald eagle fly to freedom

A female bald eagle was rescued from the Greenbrier River in Marlinton September 19 by Eagle Scout and Boy Scouts of America Seneca District Executive Seth Kiriluk. He transported it to Greenbrier Veterinary Hospital in Lewisburg, where it was examined by veterinarian Dr. Sue Mohler.
The bald eagle was admitted to Three Rivers Avian Center with multiple prey bites on both feet and on her right wing, starving and with a high level of lead toxicity. After two months of treatment and rehabilitation, she is ready to rejoin her mate and fly in the skies.
Watch her spread her wings Friday, November 11, 4 p.m. at the Mini Park on First Avenue in Marlinton.
