Julian Winfred Hiner, age 87, of Mountain Grove, Virginia, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016.
Born December 26, 1928, in Mountain Grove, Virginia, he was a son of the late Lloyd Winfred and Susie Chestnut Hiner.
Julian served in the United States Army. He returned to live in Mountain Grove, Virginia, and worked for many years at the Ford Garage in Marlinton. He later operated the family country store in Virginia. He loved telling jokes and old sagas about family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Pursley; and a brother, Calvin Hiner.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane Jack Hiner; a son, Stephen Winfred Hiner, and wife, Tammy Jo; a grandson, Nathaniel Winfred Hiner, and wife, Candise; a sister, Betty Dunbar; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service is Thursday, October 20, 11 a.m. at the Mountain Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Gibson, Bedford Sharp, Jr., Kleigh Sharp, Rick Roberson, Kenneth McLaughlin and Carl May.
