The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning and a Winter Weather Advisory for Pocahontas County.
Dangerous cold air and wind chills expected Monday afternoon into Tuesday.
Winter Weather Advisory in effect Monday, January 6, from 2 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Wind Chill Warning in effect from 4 p.m. Monday through 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Snow accumulation of two to four inches, between midnight Sunday through Monday afternoon.
Wind chill readings of 25-to-35 below zero are expected, with wind chills of 50 below in the higher elevations.
Prolonged exposure to these very cold temperatures could lead to frostbite or hypothermia.
Limit outdoor activities.
Rapidly falling temperatures late Sunday night could cause a flash freeze of water on untreated roadways.
