Telford Monroe Marsh, age 92, of Scott Valley, California, passed away May 26, 2016, from congestive heart failure.
Born January 19, 1924, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Carl and Grace Marsh.
Telford moved to Baltimore, Maryland, after high school graduation. He worked for the Glenn L. Martin Company, building aircrafts until being drafted in 1943. He served in the 760th Field Artillery Battalion, Battery A, in New Guinea, Philippines, and Japan. He married Alleene Kesler December 7, 1946. They were introduced as pen pals by her cousin, Ray Thomas, during the war and were married for 67 years.
Telford was a route salesman for 31 years for Green Springs Dairy in Baltimore, Maryland. He and Alleene moved to Roseville, California, in 1979, where he worked for 15 years as a medical courier for LabCorp.
He enjoyed weekly family barbecues and card games; also taking his sons, Danny and David, on bowling outings, to the movies and to Baltimore Oriole baseball games. Other favorite times were summer gatherings on his wife’s family farm in West Virginia and the annual family Christmas Eve party in Baltimore. He was an avid reader and cooked a mean meatloaf and mashed potato dinner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alleene Marsh; a son, Daniel; a brother, Harrison; and a sister, Eileen. He is survived by a son, David Marsh, and wife, Patricia, of Aptos, California; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Florence Kesler and Alice Kelser, both of Cass.
Per his request, there will be no service. Burial will be at a later date in Cass.
