Carlos Raymond Schoolcraft, age 80, of Buckeye, went to be with his Lord Sunday, May 29, 2016, at his home.
Born August 15, 1935, in Fayetteville, he was a son of the late Samuel M. and Ada Pearl Schoolcraft.
Carlos was a United States Army Veteran, having proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a Christian and a faithful member of the Cooktown Church, where he served as treasurer for many years. He was active in several local organizations and a retiree from Hanover Shoe Company in Marlinton. He served as the Pioneer Days Parade Marshall in 2009.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Kirk Schoolcraft; and a son, Tony Schoolcraft.
He is survived by his sons, Terry R. Schoolcraft, and wife, Debra Ann, and Timothy A. Schoolcraft, all of Buckeye; sisters, Phyllis McCall, and husband, David, of Slaty Fork, Janice Gurley, and husband, Lee, of Charlottesville, Virginia, Linda Wright, and husband, Wilbur, of Marlinton, and Wanda Harper, and husband, Rick, of Frankford; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Funeral service is June 1, 2 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor David McCall officiating. Interment will be in the Kee Cemetery in Buckeye.
